We Foresee Properties for Generations

Celebrating Six Generations of Groveland Business and Community Involvement.

Fun Fact: The 4-C logo is the actual design of the branding iron used on the Cassaretto ranches to mark their livestock.  The number 4 represents the four founding Cassaretto family members.

Our history begins in 1849 when Casimir Raboul, a Frenchman hoping to gather Gold Dust, built an adobe block store building. The store was erected as the first trading post, located in Garrote, later renamed Groveland.

Luigi Noziglia bought the trading post from Raboul and married Rosa Cassaretto on December 25, 1874. Unfortunately, not long after Luigi died so Rosa convinced her brother Louis Cassaretto, born January 2, 1854, in Italy, to come to America and help her manage the business. He arrived in 1876 and helped operate the store and land holdings which have remained in the Cassaretto family for over 148 years.

As they say, the rest is history.

Today, the building is the oldest structure in Groveland and currently operates as a thrift store and a Mexican restaurant located in the middle of town at 18730 Main Street (Hwy. 120). In the above photo, the ‘A’ frame building on the left side of road (heading east) is the original store.
